Signature Learning Experience
In our elementary studios, every day is an opportunity for scholars to explore their unique gifts while diving deep into exploring academics and real-world projects. Between exciting hands-on projects, outdoor expeditions, Makerspace workshops, and cutting-edge technology, we work to make learning fun and relevant. Elementary Guides mentor students to become free-thinking, problem-solving, creative, and responsible individuals. Our close-knit, multi-age, student-led learning communities provide a safe environment for scholars to become their authentic selves.

Mission’s Method
At Mission Academy, we believe that learning should be rigorous while also being incredibly fun! Drawing inspiration from national standards, scholars learn core skills at an individualized and advanced pace. Through project-based learning and exploration, our student-centered instruction teaches academic concepts while fostering problem-solving skills, innovation, and curiosity. We instill a sense of wonder in scholars so that they always find enjoyment in education.
Our elementary scholars develop foundational skills in areas such as the four operations, measurement and data, and geometry. We also believe that developing a mathematical mindset is equally as important as these skills, which is why we foster problem-solving strategies, evaluation skills, critical thinking, logic, and reasoning. Scholars use physical manipulatives and real-world scenarios to bring math to life in a fun, creative, and challenging manner.
With a goal of developing passionate, creative, and skilled individuals, we approach language in a way that reflects society. Our scholars develop fluency, comprehension, and writing skills, but apply them in meaningful real-world ways. They create business pitches, draft letters to NASA astronauts, craft entire plays from scratch, and report news stories as journalists. We use literacy and communication as a catalyst to exploration and adventure.
Creativity, problem-solving, innovation, and play are the heart of our STEAM curriculum. Our scholars develop 21st century skills through challenges like growing a hydroponic garden, practicing entrepreneurship, learning to code, and programming robots. Through hands-on, real-world experiences, scholars learn to ask questions, make observations, recognize patterns, draw conclusions, create models and artwork, and have discussions rooted in critical thinking.
Mission’s method to civilizations is to tell the stories of the world- reflecting on the past while creating a better future. What caused the rise and fall of ancient civilizations? Who are heroes and villains of history? How can we become productive citizens that can make a positive impact on the future of our world? Scholars analyze concepts like these in history, geography, and culture while learning to give back to their community. Whether gathering canned food for the local food bank or creating cheerful cards for the elderly, we encourage scholars to be giving and kind.
