Mission Academy Guides are creative, intelligent individuals who enjoy working on a team and want to make a difference in the world through education. To see a child’s success is our success. Everything we do at Mission Academy is built on our relationships.
Our staff is free to dream big about how they wish to teach, implementing the latest in technology and educational practices to meet the needs of their learning community. Mission Academy is a private K-8 micro-school school with a student body of 100 learners. We are guided by a fundamental belief in the immense potential within every person. Therefore, our mission is to help each student flourish – emotionally, socially, and academically – through positive mentoring relationships and a personalized education experience.
We care about the development of our students and our staff as well. Our teaching teams are made up of lifelong learners interested in continuous development. Mission Academy supports our Guides by offering relevant and thought-provoking personal development and providing access to classroom resources and peer-mentoring opportunities. We understand that what we do as Guides tremendously impacts students. We never settle. We never quit. We do what it takes to ensure our students thrive!

Settling is not an option and therefore we strive to find the best ways to accomplish tasks and overcome challenges. We embrace change and actively seek new and better ways by learning from other organizations and industries. We believe in reinforcing exemplary character with positive reinforcement because we know that children learn best when they feel supported and valued.
We encourage our educator Guides and learners to set personal goals, teach them to hold themselves accountable for their mistakes and to work as a team to solve problems and overcome barriers. Our goal is to provide a personalized environment that supports individualized learning and growth for our learners and Guides.

I enjoy working at Mission due to their focused pursuit of an excellent educational experience while simultaneously encouraging our learners to follow their passions. One of my favorite parts of our studies here is our TimberNook time, in which the students spend an afternoon each week in an immersive outdoor play experience.
